Video Greatness for 10/20/08

The Dick Ebersol years at SNL are always overlooked. That Lorne Michaels-less period launched Eddie Murphy. That might also be the period that hosted the greatest array of musical acts: The Clash, Joe Jackson, Fear, Captain Beefheart, Miles Davis, The Kinks, Squeeze, etc..
Shit, even Delbert McClinton, Laura Branigan and Men At Work rocked SNL during those years.
But the tops might be this mind-blowing performance by Sparks. From the intro (and watch Danny Devito's face) to the dance performance of Ron Mael, the Hitler moustached keyboard player - this is pure genius.
And it is all a loving song about Mickey Mouse - with completely inane lyrics.
